Government Claim

What we need from you

The more complete the record, the stronger the claim. Send what you have even if it is disorganised — sorting it out is our job.

The contract itself

The prime contract or subcontract, every modification, the general and special conditions, and the specifications relevant to the disputed work.

The chronology

Daily reports, schedules and schedule updates, meeting minutes, and anything that fixes a date. This is the single most valuable category and the one most often incomplete.

The notice trail

RFIs and their answers, change order requests, notices of delay or differing site conditions, and the replies you received. Federal claims frequently fail on notice rather than on the underlying facts.

The money

Your original estimate, actual costs, payroll and equipment records, invoices, and how you calculated what you are owed.

Everything else

Photographs, emails, letters, text messages, and any inspection or test reports. If you are unsure whether something matters, send it.
